Day 2 of the Skeet weekend in January featured the Famous Grouse 100 bird match plus handicap which drew a small but competitive field, thanks go to those who travelled from the Wairarapa and Palmerston North to support us in this longstanding club event, and newer shooters having a taste of a 100 bird event.

Half time scores were tight with sporting shooter Eddie Ng (49/50) a nose ahead of visitors Eric Dais, Peter Borrie and local skeet specialist Mike Dasler on 48’s.  It was great to see new skeeters Barry Mumford and Maria Nicholls-Pokotea ( a PB 22 in round 1)  looking handy in the handicap standings too, and ISSF skeet man Zane Cottle warming to the task.

Afternoon performances proved telling with outstanding possibles from Eric and smooth swinging Phil Bazalo (50/50) and personal bests by Barry Mumford and junior Ben Jolly on 22 and 23 respectively in round 4. Well done everyone.

At the end of the day Eric Dais prevailed, outstanding 98/100 and Zane Cottle picking up the handicap prize.
