The Kelly Taylor and Seasons Cups are a feature of the Hutt Valley club calendar with an eclectic mix of disciplines, plus handicapping making it a real contest and test of skill shotgun skills.

Redoubtable veteran wily Jamie Cane had a great day winning the Kelly Taylor shield Off the Gun including a smooth swinging 21 in skeet setting the foundation,  a good effort for a trench specialist, well done Jamie . The Cup was won by Grant Wareham and was pushed hard by Dave Kershaw just one target back on handicap. Another strong outing by Dave he won’t be C grade much longer, keep it up Dave that was a nice 23 in the skeet.

The Seasons Cups are a graded event over 30 targets. Sporting shooter Eddie Ng turned up in time to enter and shot the only possible, winning B grade ( he kept his composure after shaking hands after 25 targets only to be sent back to the mark for another 5 targets, unshakeable resilience this guy). A grade was no surprise featuring Jamie Cane on 29 and great to see Lada Coenradi (another Trench specialist) taking out C grade on 27.

Finally the gimcrack to finish proceedings won by Barry Mumford (notably with a mighty possible) who snuck in a last minute entry and took the chocolates 1 target ahead of Lada, Mike Dasler and Grant, congrats Barry.

Thanks to our visitors from the Wairarapa supporting the event and also newer members Derek and Lada who gamely entered the whole programme including double rise and skeet for the first time, kudos to you both.
