The JC (Sos) Savage Memorial Trophy has been shot over the skeet at the Wellington Districts since, well ages ago. With skeet no longer on the programme for Districts, we made the first 25 of todays 100 target skeet North/South event the JC (Sos) Savage Memorial Trophy event. A crisp start to the day bodes well for a nice day to come and that is exactly what we got. Not a breath of wind and wall to wall sunshine. So that first round of the day had two 23’s at top score; Ben Jolly and Peter Borrie. Into the shoot off they went, at the completion of the 100 target event, and on station 3, Ben was still clean but Peter let one go.
Well done Ben.
Ben came out with the best score of the day too with a 94/100, making him 1st B Grade. Mike Dasler took A Grade on a 91/100. And no C Graders opted in to the 100 today.
For a bit of fun, there was a round of skeet doubles at the end of the day. Peter got his own back on Ben by winning this round of fun on a 40/50.
