Over the course of Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September the club hosted the North Island South Zone ISSF Trap Championship.

Day 1 finished with a packed field and only a blanket separating them!  Tim Fuller on 68 led the way, with 6 shooters on 66, John Hillock, James Sullivan, Daniel Niblett, Jack Heslip and Morgan Kircher.  Not too far behind were Max Edwards with a 65 and Connor Lim, along with Toby McCabe on 64.  Congratulations to John Hillock for shooting a 25 in round 1 which really made the filed take notice!

Sunday brought glorious weather and high expectations across the entire field

Tim Fuller was top qualifier into the final with a 113, two targets clear of the next two shooters.  Jack Heslip and James Sullivan, on 111, had to fight it out for bibs 2 and 3 as well as the Junior title.  James got bib 2 with Jack settling for bib 3 but Jack took the Junior title.  Max Edwards stepped into bib 4 with his 110.  Then Daniel Niblett (also a junior) and Morgan Kircher, on 109, had to fight it out for bibs 5 and 6.  Daniel got bib 5 leaving Morgan with bib 6.

Morgan was the first to drop from the final, then Daniel.  Max was out at the conclusion of the next five targets.  Then Tim was out, leaving James and Jack to fight it out for HOA.  Well done Jack for taking out the top spot.

And the last fight for places was father and daughter duo, Richard and Maddie France, hunting for first and second C Grade at their first Trench competition on 94’s.
